Day 7

Today in Greece was the most memorable day for me. It started with an early morning but I can tell it will end with a late night from talking about our fun day. My highlight of the day was cliff jumping. The feeling of both feet hitting the water at a fast pace made me want to jump higher and farther than ever. The feeling of being scared but wanting to laugh stirred into adrenaline as I felt the rush go through my body. My low light of today was feeling carsick on the way to the waterfalls, but that was easily fixed with some karaoke and Justin Bieber. In conclusion my day in Greece has been mesmerizing and I am so excited for the new memories and experiences I will get to share with my fellow classmates for the last days of this trip.

Today we went to the Temple of Apollo Epikourios located in Phigalia, Greece. It was really interesting to see how well the monument was preserved even after 2400 years have passed. I was surprised by the beauty of its construction. I think the north to south alignment of this Temple, in contrast to the east to south alignment that most other Greek temples had, gave this temple a unique feeling and definitely made it cooler over all the other temples.
After walking around and taking a group photo in front of Apollo’s temple, we went on a short hike to visit some of the waterfalls at the Neda river. The temperature of the water was fantastic and we got a chance to jump off of the cliffs at the side of the waterfalls alongside the locals. I personally found the waterfall more entertaining because it was gorgeous and full of fun activities.
Overall today was an awesome day and I would be more than excited to be able to return and see the Temple and the waterfall when I'm older.

I have really enjoyed today, the long car rides with the loud sing alongs, the beautiful hike along side the river. Although the highlight of the day was the cliff jump into the freezing river below. I am excited to see our newfound friends from Greece in the beach games tonight. During the trip there has been an overall sense of friendship through the highs and lows.  I have enjoyed this trip greatly and hope to go on many more trips with the school in the future. This is an amazing educational experience that I would encourage any future grade 8’s to do. I believe that a trip like this allows a student to gain independence in a safe environment that allows them to grow. This is such an amazing trip.
